Where it came from
Hymn of Light was originally introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the support for the Herald archetype, designed to facilitate the ritual summoning process by recycling resources. It serves a specific mechanical purpose within the game, allowing players to recover Herald monsters from the graveyard, which reinforces the archetype's strategy of maintaining hand advantage through negate-heavy playstyles.
The version from OTS Tournament Pack 24, marked as OP24-EN023, is a common-rarity reprint released as part of Konami's ongoing tournament support initiative. These packs are distributed exclusively through Official Tournament Stores to reward active participants, and the design aesthetic maintains the standard framing used for the series while providing a accessible printing for competitive players who require the card for deck construction.
