Infestation Ripples

Infestation Ripples was released as part of the Duel Terminal 6a set, which introduced the Infestation archetype into the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was part of the Duel Terminal machine series, a Japanese arcade-based system that allowed players to scan physical cards to simulate duels. The design of the card leans into the thematic narrative of the 'lswarm' (Steelswarm) invasion, a group of malevolent, bio-mechanical entities intent on consuming the world's life force.

The card's artwork features a distinct, aggressive aesthetic common to the Duel Terminal series, emphasizing the unsettling and parasitic nature of the Infestation forces. As a Counter Trap, it was designed to provide the archetype with defensive utility by negating activations, reflecting the parasitic 'ripples' of influence the swarm exerts over its battlefield. While it is a niche card within the broader game history, it serves as a functional piece of the lswarm lore that defined the meta-game landscape of that specific terminal era.
