Jam Defender

Jam Defender was originally released in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Pharaoh's Servant expansion. The card was designed to support the distinct gameplay mechanic of the 'Jam' monsters, specifically the signature 'Revival Jam', allowing players to redirect attacks to a monster capable of recurring from the graveyard. This strategic focus reflected the game's shift toward more interactive board states where trap cards functioned as essential defensive utility.

The card was later included in Retro Pack 2, a release curated to provide players with access to older, out-of-print cards that had become difficult to acquire. As a Super Rare card in this set, it featured the distinct holofoil treatment that collectors associate with the era's mid-tier rarity hierarchy.
