Jirai Gumo

Jirai Gumo was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game in Japan before being localized for international audiences in the 2002 Metal Raiders booster set. As one of the early effect monsters, it was designed to reflect the high-risk, high-reward gameplay philosophy that characterized the game's formative years, where powerful monster stats were often offset by steep costs or detrimental effects.

The card’s illustration depicts a subterranean arachnid, aligning with the dark and monstrous aesthetic prevalent in the initial card pool.
