Karakuri Cash Inn

Karakuri Cash Inn was released in the 2020 Ignition Assault booster set, a core set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The card is part of the Karakuri archetype, a series of Earth-attribute Machine monsters inspired by traditional Japanese mechanical dolls known as karakuri. These puppets, which date back to the Edo period, were designed to perform various motions, and the card's artwork reflects this aesthetic through the lens of early 20th-century mechanical illustration.

The card was designed to support the Karakuri playstyle, which revolves around changing monster battle positions to trigger various effects and facilitate synchro summoning. As a common rarity trap card, it serves as a utility piece intended to protect the player's board while thematicizing the defensive nature of these mechanical guardians. Like many support cards in the Ignition Assault set, it aimed to bolster existing strategies rather than redefine the competitive meta, maintaining the cohesive visual identity established by the long-running Karakuri series.
