Kashtira Overlap

Kashtira Overlap was released in February 2023 as part of the Photon Hypernova core booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. It was designed to support the Kashtira archetype, a group of psychic monsters introduced during the same series that focus on banishing opponents' cards face-down to disrupt their strategies. The spell card serves as a thematic reinforcement of the archetype's aggressive playstyle, allowing players to manipulate the levels of their monsters to facilitate higher-tier summons.

The visual design of the card reflects the aesthetic of the Kashtira faction, which features futuristic, armored entities with an emphasis on interdimensional conquest. Like most common-rarity cards in the set, it was intended to provide accessible utility to players building decks within this specific theme. Upon its release, it was received as a standard utility card that functioned well within the Kashtira engine, though it did not reach the level of competitive necessity seen with some of the archetype's higher-rarity monsters.
