Kazejin

Kazejin was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Metal Raiders booster set, released in North America in 2002. As one of the three 'Gate Guardian' components, the card represents an elemental deity of wind, drawing deep inspiration from Japanese mythology and traditional depictions of Fujin. The design utilizes the iconic, sharp-edged aesthetic characteristic of early Kazuki Takahashi character illustrations, emphasizing the monster's imposing, supernatural stature within the game's evolving meta.

Upon its release, Kazejin was categorized as a Super Rare, making it a sought-after pull for players looking to complete the complex Gate Guardian set. While its specific effect—which allows it to negate an attack by lowering the opponent's monster's ATK to zero—was considered mechanically cumbersome to summon, it remains a nostalgic pillar of the original Konami TCG era. The artwork and lore solidified its status as a staple for collectors interested in the foundational monsters of the series' early history.
