The name refers to a 'golden cat,' a supernatural creature often associated with wealth and good fortune. In the game's design, the card was conceptualized as a Spirit monster, a subtype defined by its tendency to return to the player's hand during the end phase, reflecting the elusive nature of spirits in mythology.

The Astral Pack Eight version, numbered AP08-EN018, was released as a common card within the long-running Astral Pack series. These packs were primarily distributed as tournament prize support at official Konami events to reward players for their participation.
