Provenance

Where it came from

Kozmotown was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2015 set Clash of Rebellions. It serves as the pivotal Field Spell for the Kozmo archetype, a fan-favorite theme that creatively blends elements of science fiction films like Star Wars with the aesthetic of The Wizard of Oz. The card was designed to stabilize the archetype by allowing players to recycle banished Kozmo monsters and draw cards, effectively mitigating the resource cost of the deck's summoning mechanics.

The reprint in the 2020 Maximum Gold set updated the card with the 'Premium Gold Rare' treatment, distinguished by its gold-colored name, border, and intricate textured gold foil finish. This release was part of Konami's initiative to provide players with higher-rarity versions of competitive staples. The card is highly regarded by the community for its strategic depth and remains a quintessential piece for collectors of the Kozmo series.
