Krebons

Krebons was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a core component of the Psychic-type monster family, which debuted in the late 2000s. Released in the Duel Terminal 5b set, this card reflects the technological and dystopian aesthetic central to the Duel Terminal storyline, where mechanical and psychic entities battled for supremacy. Its design emphasizes the character's role as a mysterious, hooded operative, fitting the high-concept lore of the set.

The card's design is defined by its versatile effect, allowing players to pay life points to negate attacks, making it a staple defensive option for many years. It was illustrated to match the futuristic, sleek visual language of the Psychic archetype, which aimed to distinguish itself from traditional spellcaster or warrior designs. Upon release, it was recognized by competitive players for its utility in Synchro Summoning strategies, cementing its status as a foundational card in the game's evolving meta-game.
