Krebons

Krebons was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2008 as part of the Turbo Pack: Booster One set. This set was unique because it was primarily distributed to hobby stores for use as prize support for sanctioned tournaments, rather than being sold in traditional retail booster packs. As a psychic-type monster, Krebons emerged during a period when the game was heavily emphasizing the newly introduced Psychic monster subtype, which utilized life point payments to activate powerful defensive and utility effects.

The card was illustrated with a distinct, eerie aesthetic that aligned with the high-concept visual identity of the Psychic archetype. Its design focused on a 'tuner' monster mechanic, allowing players to utilize it as a component for Synchro Summoning. During its competitive tenure, Krebons was highly regarded by players for its ability to repeatedly negate attacks by paying life points, a strategic stalling technique that made it a staple in control-oriented decks of that era.
