Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord

Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord debuted in the 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Pendulum Evolution. This set was specifically designed to support the Pendulum mechanic, an innovative and complex summoning system introduced to the game years prior. As a Dracoverlord, the character serves as a central antagonist within the overarching Dracoslayer lore, a narrative-driven series of cards that depict an epic struggle between draconic factions.

The card was designed to provide utility within Dracoslayer-themed decks by negating the effects of other Pendulum monsters on the field, fitting the aggressive and disruptive nature of the Dracoverlord archetype. Illustrated with sharp, imposing features and distinct armor, the artwork reflects the high-fantasy aesthetic characteristic of the series. Upon its release, it was well-received by players looking to solidify Pendulum-based strategies in competitive play, particularly for its ability to manipulate field states.
