This set served to expand the Genex archetype, a faction characterized by their mechanical, elemental-themed designs that focus on graveyard interaction and synchro summoning. The card was designed to function as a high-level Synchro Monster capable of seizing control of an opponent's monster, a mechanic intended to provide a disruptive edge in a rapidly accelerating meta.
