Lord Poison

Lord Poison was originally released in the Japanese set Soul of the Duelist in 2004 before being included as part of the Dark Revelation Volume 2 reprint set in the TCG. As an effect monster belonging to the Plant type, it was designed to bolster graveyard-reliant strategies by allowing a player to special summon another Plant monster upon its destruction. This utility reflects the ongoing expansion of creature-type synergies in the early mid-2000s, where specific archetypes were increasingly given unique support cards to differentiate their playstyles on the field.

The card’s artwork features a characteristically grim, gothic aesthetic common to the era's monster designs, emphasizing a dark, poison-themed visual identity. As a common rarity card in the Dark Revelation Volume 2 set, it was intended to be highly accessible to players looking to build budget-friendly decks. While it never achieved status as a competitive staple, it remains a notable example of the reliable, mid-tier utility cards that defined the collectibility and strategic variety of the Dark Revelation reprint series.
