Lyla, Twilightsworn Enchantress

Lyla, Twilightsworn Enchantress was released in the 2017 booster set Code of the Duelist as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This monster serves as a retrained version of the original Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, reflecting the lore-heavy narrative of the Lightsworn and Twilightsworn factions where characters succumb to or balance the influence of shadow. It was designed to provide players with a versatile tool for graveyard manipulation, allowing them to mill cards and disrupt opponent resources, fitting into the established mechanics of the Lightsworn archetype.

The visual design of the card features the character in a darker, more corrupted aesthetic compared to the original Lightsworn version, consistent with the Twilightsworn sub-theme. Like many cards in the Code of the Duelist expansion, it was developed by Konami to expand the competitive viability of existing themes. Upon release, the Super Rare card was well-received by players focusing on graveyard-based strategies, as it provided a necessary technical update to a classic card engine.
