Where it came from
Mage Power was originally introduced as a common card in the 2002 Magician's Force expansion, serving as a staple Equip Spell card that rewards players for maintaining a well-stocked field. Its design features a mystical aura surrounding a central staff, visually representing its mechanic of scaling in power based on the total number of Spell and Trap cards controlled by the user. The card became a classic utility piece, widely recognized for its ability to turn modest monsters into significant offensive threats.
The version from Quarter Century Bonanza, designated RA03-EN113, is a modern high-rarity re-release featuring the distinctive Secret Rare foil treatment. This set was produced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, curating iconic and fan-favorite cards with special holographic patterns. By updating the aesthetics of long-standing staples like Mage Power, the release caters to both nostalgic players who grew up with the early sets and modern collectors interested in premium card finishes.
