Magic Reflector

Magic Reflector was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Legacy of Darkness booster set, released in North America in 2003. As part of the early years of the game, this card reflects the strategic focus of that era, which prioritized spell and trap support to maintain board presence. Its design allows players to place a spell counter on a face-up spell or trap card, effectively protecting it from destruction and providing a tactical layer of defense against board wipes.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the Konami design team during the game's formative period, utilizing a minimalist visual style to convey its function as a protective barrier. While not considered a centerpiece of competitive play during its inception, it remains a recognized utility card among collectors of the Legacy of Darkness set. Its inclusion in the set was part of an effort to expand the versatility of spell-based strategies, ensuring players had specific counters to deal with increasingly aggressive trap-removal tactics popular at the time.
