Magical Contract Door

Magical Contract Door was released in 2017 as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions Movie Pack: Gold Edition. The set was designed to complement the 2016 animated film, which serves as a canonical sequel to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and highlights the complex rivalry between Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba. This specific spell card reflects the themes of the film, focusing on the high-stakes, dramatic magical exchanges characteristic of the franchise's cinematic outings.

The card features an illustration consistent with the aesthetic of the Dark Side of Dimensions expansion, which utilized gold-bordered card stock to signify the special status of the movie-related cards. Mechanically, the card allows players to add a ritual spell or monster from the deck to their hand by revealing a spell card in their own hand, embodying the resourceful and strategic nature of the game's protagonists. It was received by the player base as a niche utility card intended for specialized ritual decks, rather than a staple for competitive play.
