Marina, Princess of Sunflowers

Marina, Princess of Sunflowers was released in the Shadow Specters booster set in late 2013. As a Plant-type monster, it fits into the broader thematic expansion of the archetype, which often focuses on tribute-heavy playstyles and effects that trigger upon being sent to the Graveyard. This card was designed to support decks utilizing the Sylvan or general Plant synergy, providing a form of targeted destruction that rewards players for managing their monster zones effectively.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the Shadow Specters expansion, which favored high-fantasy character designs. Like many cards of its era and rarity, the visual style emphasizes a regal, floral-inspired character to match its title. It was received by players as a niche but functional tool for mid-tier decks, serving as a reliable way to remove threats from the field when a Plant-type monster is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect.
