Marina, Princess of Sunflowers

Marina, Princess of Sunflowers was released in the 2020 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Secret Slayers. The set is notable for introducing the Adamancipator, Eldlich, and Rikka archetypes to the game, with this card serving as a key member of the Rikka plant-based theme. The set was designed to synergize with graveyard-reliant strategies and high-level monster summoning, reflecting a period in the game's competitive history where field control through attribute-locked monster effects was heavily prioritized.

The card features an intricate botanical-inspired illustration typical of the Rikka aesthetic, which centers on themes of seasonal flora and regal personification. The artwork aims to contrast the delicate nature of sunflowers with a more formidable, armored silhouette, fitting the card's function as a high-level monster with significant offensive capabilities. Upon release, it was well-received by players looking to optimize Rikka decks, though its performance in the competitive meta was largely defined by its utility within its specific archetype rather than as a standalone staple.
