Marincess Wave

Marincess Wave was originally introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Rising Rampage expansion set in 2019 before being reprinted as a Rare in the 2020 Tin of Lost Memories Mega Pack. It belongs to the Marincess archetype, a WATER-attribute set of monsters designed by Konami that centers on the aesthetic of deep-sea creatures and aquatic maidens. The card was created to provide the theme with essential defensive utility, specifically functioning as a non-targeting negation effect that protects the user's board while disrupting the opponent.

The artistic design of the card features the character Marincess Sea Horse, aligning with the archetype's thematic focus on fluid motion and oceanic elements. In the competitive landscape, the card gained significance due to its ability to be activated directly from the hand, provided the player controls a Link-3 or higher Marincess monster. This specific mechanic made it a staple for players utilizing the archetype, as it offered a reliable way to disrupt complex plays during the opponent's turn without the typical speed constraints of standard trap cards.
