Provenance

Where it came from

The Meklord Army of Wisel was released as part of the 2020 booster set Legendary Duelists: Rage of Ra. This collection was designed to celebrate iconic cards used by characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, specifically focusing on the antagonists and side characters associated with the Egyptian God cards and machine-based archetypes. The card represents the foot soldiers of the Meklord Emperor Wisel, a central antagonist force from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's animated series that famously utilized anti-Synchro technology to challenge the heroes of the show.

The illustration maintains the series' characteristic blend of mechanical and demonic aesthetics, emphasizing the jagged, cold design language associated with the Meklord army. As a common rarity card, it was distributed to provide accessibility to players looking to complete thematic decks rather than as a high-value collector's piece. The card’s design aims to facilitate swarm strategies, allowing for the rapid deployment of multiple machine-type monsters to the field, reflecting the relentless and overwhelming nature of the Meklord faction in the original source material.
