Mind Wipe

Mind Wipe was originally released in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, with this specific iteration appearing in the 2006 Dark Revelation Volume 3 expansion set. This set was designed as a curated reprint compilation, intended to provide players with accessible versions of cards that had previously been dispersed across various smaller booster sets, thereby helping to stabilize the competitive landscape by making core utility spells more widely available.

The card’s design reflects the strategic focus of the game's early era, centered on hand manipulation and resource disruption. As a Normal Spell card, its function allows a player to discard their hand to force an opponent to discard a matching number of cards, a high-risk, high-reward mechanic that characterizes the tactical trade-offs found throughout the Dark Revelation series. While it did not attain staple status, it remains a notable example of the disruptive card effects favored by game designers during the mid-2000s.
