Minefield Eruption

Minefield Eruption was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the expansion set Flaming Eternity before being reprinted in Dark Revelation Volume 3. The card, categorized as a common-rarity trap, functions by inflicting burn damage to an opponent based on the number of cards they control when a monster is destroyed by battle. Its inclusion in the Dark Revelation series served to consolidate various cards from prior sets, making staple and situational utility cards more accessible to players who missed the initial release waves.

The design of the card reflects the aggressive, high-risk aesthetic often found in the early-to-mid 2000s era of the game, where trap cards were frequently used to punish board presence. While Minefield Eruption is not considered a competitive staple, it exemplifies the thematic focus on explosive damage effects prevalent in that period.
