Provenance

Where it came from

Mirror Wall first appeared in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a signature card used by Mai Valentine in the original animated series. Designed to represent a defensive barrier that halves the attack points of monsters attacking the controller, the card captures the aesthetic of the Duelist Kingdom arc. It was intended to showcase Mai’s tactical, mind-game-oriented playstyle, emphasizing the importance of board control and calculated risk during the game's nascent era.

The Retro Pack 2 release, which includes the Ultra Rare version RP02-EN007, was produced to provide players and collectors access to iconic cards from the franchise's history. By re-releasing these classic staples with high-rarity foiling, Konami aimed to bridge the gap between nostalgic fans of the original anime and competitive players who valued the card's enduring utility. This specific printing is highly regarded for maintaining the classic card layout that defined the game's visual identity during its international launch.
