Nemeses Flag

Nemeses Flag was introduced as part of the Eternity Code booster set, released internationally in 2020. This card serves as a central engine piece for the Nemeses archetype, a group of monsters designed to manipulate banished cards to facilitate high-level special summons. The set emerged during a period where Yu-Gi-Oh! was increasingly focusing on graveyard and banish-zone recursion as a primary gameplay mechanic.

The artwork follows the aesthetic established by the Nemeses sub-series, characterized by celestial and mythological motifs that emphasize cosmic scale. Designed by the internal art team at Konami, the visual identity of the card aims to evoke a sense of ancient, dormant power being awakened. Upon release, it was well-received by competitive players for its utility in searching other key monsters, solidifying its place in rogue and meta-adjacent strategies of the era.
