Nin-Ken Dog

Nin-Ken Dog was originally released in the Japanese Magic Ruler set in 2000, later finding its way to Western audiences in the Dark Revelation Volume 1 compilation set in 2005. As a normal monster, it represents the foundational era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, designed primarily to populate the early game with simple beatsticks and thematic creatures before the introduction of complex archetype-based mechanics.

The artwork reflects the lighthearted, eclectic aesthetic of the game's early monsters, blending martial arts themes with anthropomorphic animal designs. While the card did not see competitive play due to its unremarkable statistics, it remains a nostalgic piece of the Dark Revelation era, which served as a significant reprint collection intended to give newer players access to cards previously scattered across older, out-of-print booster expansions.
