Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus

Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Shadow Specters booster set in late 2013, before appearing as a Super Rare in the 2014 Mega-Tin Mega Pack. It is a Rank 4 Xyz monster representing the Battlin' Boxer archetype, which draws heavy thematic inspiration from professional boxing and combat sports. The card's design features a metallic, armored pugilist aesthetic intended to convey high-impact offensive capabilities, reflecting its mechanical role as a monster that burns the opponent while simultaneously punishing them in battle.

The card was designed by the creative team at Konami Digital Entertainment as a centerpiece for the Battlin' Boxer deck, which gained competitive relevance during the Zexal era of the game. Its design philosophy centered on aggressive playstyles and battle-phase manipulation, themes that resonated with players looking for distinct archetypal strategies. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the archetype for its synergy with other 'Battlin' Boxer' monsters, solidifying its place in the game's competitive history as a reliable tool for breaking through challenging boards.
