Number 32: Shark Drake

Number 32: Shark Drake was introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Return of the Duelist set, though its appearance in the Maze of Muertos expansion specifically refers to its inclusion in a specialized re-release or thematic set. Designed to embody the aggressive, oceanic motifs associated with the character Reginald Kastle from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime series, the card features an intricate, mechanical dragon aesthetic that reflects the high-fantasy industrialism typical of the Xyz monster category.

The card was illustrated by the Konami design team, who sought to create a formidable presence on the field through its 'Shark' archetype synergy. Upon release, it was received favorably by collectors and competitive players alike due to its striking Secret Rare holographic foil treatment, which highlights the layered, metallic textures of the monster's armor. It remains a hallmark of the Zexal era, representing the mid-game power spikes that defined the set's competitive meta at the time.
