Ookazi

Ookazi was introduced as part of the Starter Deck: Kaiba Evolution, released by Konami as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Designed to bolster the aggressive playstyle associated with the character Seto Kaiba, this spell card functions as a simple burn mechanism, inflicting 800 points of direct damage to the opponent's life points. It fits within the early TCG meta, where direct damage cards were frequently utilized in starter sets to teach new players the fundamentals of reducing an opponent's life points.

The card’s illustration features a stylized, chaotic energy discharge, typical of the aesthetic direction for early Yu-Gi-Oh! spell cards which focused on direct, visceral effects. While Ookazi never became a competitive staple in professional tournaments due to its low damage-to-card-ratio, it remains a nostalgic inclusion for collectors of the original Kaiba-themed starter products. Its design serves as a foundational example of the burn-spell category that characterized the game's earliest iterations.
