Otohime

Otohime was originally released in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game as a core set monster, drawing inspiration from the legendary figure of the same name from Japanese folklore. The character is traditionally depicted as a princess of the undersea Dragon Palace, which informs the card's aquatic theme and its ability to manipulate the positions of other monsters on the field. This iteration was curated for The Lost Art Promotion, an initiative by Konami to release card artworks that were previously censored or altered for the Western TCG market, returning them to their original Japanese aesthetic.

The Lost Art Promotion 2025 A series focuses on restoring the delicate and ornate character designs that were often deemed too suggestive for the initial North American releases. Otohime is characterized by its intricate, flowing traditional attire and ethereal imagery, reflecting a classic anime-inspired style favored in early 2000s card design. Upon its re-release in this collection, the card was received with enthusiasm by collectors who value the restoration of original artistic intent and the specific 'ultra-rare' foil treatment that distinguishes these promotional releases from their standard counterparts.
