Outer Entity Nyarla

Outer Entity Nyarla was released as part of the Shadows in Valhalla set, which debuted in the TCG in 2018. This expansion focused heavily on bringing the 'Entity' archetype—based on H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos—and the 'Valkyrie' series into the modern card game format. The card serves as a Rank 4 Xyz monster, designed to synergize with graveyard-focused strategies by allowing players to attach cards from the graveyard to itself as materials, effectively expanding the utility of established deck building engines.

The artistic direction for the card reflects the dark, cosmic horror aesthetic characteristic of the Entity archetype. It depicts a chaotic, multi-appendaged form that embodies the shapeshifting nature of the Nyarlathotep mythos. Within the competitive community, the card is recognized for its unique capability to facilitate complex play sequences, particularly in combos involving the retrieval of specific card types from the graveyard to manipulate the game state.
