Outer Entity Azathot

Outer Entity Azathot was introduced in the Shadows in Valhalla booster set, released as part of a TCG-exclusive expansion that brought the Cthulhu-inspired 'Entity' archetype to the forefront of competitive play. Designed as a Rank 4 Xyz Monster, the card draws heavy thematic inspiration from the Lovecraftian deity of the same name, reflecting the chaotic, reality-warping nature of the mythos through its powerful board-clearing and lockdown effects.

The card was illustrated with a focus on unsettling, cosmic aesthetics to mirror the high-risk, high-reward strategy it introduced to the game. Upon its arrival, it was received as a dominant force in competitive formats, eventually leading to its restriction in official play due to its ability to negate opponent monster effects with relative ease. Its status as a Secret Rare in the set made it a highly sought-after centerpiece for collectors focused on the dark, eldritch themes present in the trading card game's expanded lore.
