Overdrive Teleporter

The Overdrive Teleporter was released in November 2008 as part of the Crossroads of Chaos booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set is notable for introducing the Psychic-type monster category to the game, a departure from the established monster types that focused heavily on thematic resonance with mental energy and biological manipulation. As a high-rarity Secret Rare, this card served as a flagship for the new archetype, designed to enable rapid special summoning from the deck by paying life points.

The card's design aesthetic leans into the futuristic and bio-mechanical motifs characteristic of the Psychic-type monsters introduced during the 5D's era of the franchise. By allowing players to pay 2000 life points to summon two low-level Psychics, the card was balanced around the high-risk, high-reward nature of the game at the time. It was well-regarded by competitive players for its ability to generate instant field presence, solidifying its place in the history of support cards that defined the Psychic-type's playstyle.
