Performapal Turn Trooper

Performapal Turn Trooper was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game as part of the 2021 Tin of Ancient Battles. This set functioned as a reprint collection, pulling together cards from the major core booster releases of the preceding year. By gathering cards from sets like Rise of the Duelist and Phantom Rage, the tin provided players with more accessible versions of cards that were previously difficult or expensive to acquire, effectively balancing the competitive landscape for mid-tier hobbyists.

The Performapal archetype, characterized by its whimsical, hybrid animal-creature designs, was created by Konami as a central pillar of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V era. These cards emphasize pendulum mechanics and synergistic combo play, often reflecting the playful personality of the series protagonist, Yuya Sakaki. Turn Trooper specifically utilizes a straightforward effect designed to facilitate special summoning from the hand, a common design goal in the archetype intended to enable rapid, resource-heavy plays while maintaining the lighthearted aesthetic the sub-series is known for.
