Power Bond (Skill Card)

Power Bond was originally released in the 2004 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set Magician's Force, serving as a powerful spell card designed to support the Cyber Dragon and Fusion archetype favored by Zane Truesdale in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. The card is renowned for its high-risk, high-reward mechanic, allowing a player to fusion summon a Machine-type monster while doubling its original attack, balanced by the player taking damage equal to that attack at the end of the turn.

The version included in the Speed Duel GX: Midterm Paradox box, numbered SGX2-ENS08, was printed as a common card to facilitate the specific, fast-paced playstyle of the Speed Duel format. By reprinting this iconic card within the Midterm Paradox set, Konami aimed to capture the intensity of the GX era, providing players with the necessary tools to recreate the dramatic, heavy-hitting duels seen on screen without requiring the original, often more expensive, core-set printings.
