Where it came from
Prediction Ritual was introduced in the 2015 set Dragons of Legend 2, a release designed to bring cards previously featured in the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series into the physical trading card game. This specific spell card serves as a dedicated Ritual Spell for the Prediction Princess archetype, reflecting the show's focus on Flip monster mechanics and defensive playstyles that define the series' later duels.
The card's design features the artwork of Prediction Princess Tarotrei, emphasizing the mystical, tarot-inspired aesthetic central to the archetype's theme. Kazuki Takahashi and the Konami design team developed these cards to bridge the gap between television canon and competitive gameplay, with the Super Rare foil finish serving to highlight the card's utility as a core engine piece for players seeking to optimize the Ritual summoning process.
