Primal Seed

Primal Seed was released in 2004 as part of the Invasion of Chaos set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set is widely regarded by players and collectors as one of the most influential expansions in the game's history, as it introduced powerful cards that fundamentally shifted the competitive landscape of the era. The set sought to bolster themes involving chaos-aligned monsters, which were central to the prevailing meta-game at the time.

The card was designed to support the mechanics surrounding the Envoy monsters, allowing players to recover banished cards if they controlled specific high-level light and dark monsters.
