PSY-Framegear Alpha was first introduced in the 2015 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game booster set High-Speed Riders. Developed by Konami, the set centered on the 'Synchro' mechanic and introduced the PSY-Frame archetype, a unique series of Psychic-type monsters that function as defensive 'hand traps.'
