Psychic Overload

Psychic Overload was introduced as part of the Battle Pack 3: Monster League set, released by Konami in 2014. This particular set was designed specifically for a draft-style play environment, where players opened packs and built decks on the spot. The inclusion of this card aimed to provide tactical utility within the self-contained rules of the Monster League format, which focused on leveling the playing field regardless of the typical rarity or power levels of cards found in standard competitive play.

The card features an illustration consistent with the thematic design language of the Battle Pack series, which often repurposed existing visual motifs from the broader Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game ecosystem. As a common rarity card, it was distributed widely within the set to ensure accessibility for players participating in limited events. It was received primarily as a functional tool for event-based play rather than as a centerpiece for constructed deck building or high-end archival collecting.
