Kunai with Chain

Kunai with Chain was originally introduced during the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, reflecting the aesthetic of the original manga and anime series. It was designed as a versatile trap card that provided both an offensive boost and defensive utility, allowing players to shift a monster into attack position or provide a sudden stat increase to counter an opponent's move. Its appearance is iconic to the Joey Wheeler character, who frequently utilized equipment and trap cards to overcome stronger opponents in the show.

The Battle Pack 3: Monster League set, released in 2014, was designed as a draft-style format intended to equalize play by offering a wide variety of monsters and support cards in a single pool. The inclusion of Kunai with Chain in this common rarity slot served to provide players with accessible tactical options during gameplay. As a common card, it was not intended for collectors seeking high-value rarities, but rather as a functional tool for the competitive environment of the set, maintaining the classic utility it held since its initial debut.
