Pyramid Turtle

Pyramid Turtle was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the early 2000s, originally appearing in the Pharaonic Guardian set. It was designed as a key utility monster for Zombie-type decks, featuring an effect that allows a player to special summon a Zombie monster with 2000 or less defense directly from the deck upon its destruction in battle. This ability made it a foundational card for maintaining board presence and thinning the deck, serving as a reliable search engine for more powerful late-game threats.

The card was later reprinted as a common in the 2018 Structure Deck: Zombie Horde, which sought to modernize and revitalize Zombie-themed strategies for a new generation of players. The card’s design features a mummified turtle encased in stone, reflecting the dark, undead aesthetic common to the archetype. While it has since been surpassed by faster, more modern support cards, Pyramid Turtle remains a classic staple recognized for its influence on the development of resource-management mechanics in the game's history.
