Pyramid Turtle

Pyramid Turtle was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Pharaoh's Servant expansion in 2002. As a Zombie-type monster, it was designed to function as a support engine, allowing players to special summon larger, higher-level Zombie monsters from their deck when the turtle is destroyed by battle. This specific mechanic made it a staple in competitive Zombie-themed decks for many years, providing necessary consistency in an era where deck-thinning and field presence were paramount.

The Gold Series: Haunted Mine set, released in 2012, served as a reprint collection that showcased popular cards with unique gold-bordered aesthetics and shiny foil textures. Pyramid Turtle was included as a common-rarity card within this set, intended to provide players with an accessible, utilitarian version of the classic monster. The card's artwork, depicting a mummified turtle atop an ancient stone pyramid, leans into the thematic Egyptian horror aesthetic that defined the early visual identity of the franchise.
