Radian, the Multidimensional Kaiju

Radian, the Multidimensional Kaiju was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Clash of Rebellions core set in 2015. Designed as a member of the 'Kaiju' archetype, the card draws heavy inspiration from the Japanese tokusatsu genre, specifically the iconic cinematic monsters that terrorize cities. The design team created these cards to function as a unique form of removal, allowing players to tribute an opponent's monster to summon the Kaiju to the opposing field, effectively balancing high-attack power with a tactical disadvantage for the player who controls it.

The inclusion of Radian in the 2022 Structure Deck: Albaz Strike served to increase the accessibility of the card for competitive players. As a Dark-attribute Fiend monster, Radian offers distinct utility compared to its counterparts, often finding its way into side decks due to its synergy with specific graveyard-based mechanics and its ability to create a 'Radian Token' once per turn. It is regarded by the community as a staple utility card, valued more for its functional role in competitive play than for its rarity or aesthetic presentation.
