Where it came from
Raidraptor - Force Strix was originally released as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series, specifically serving as a signature Xyz Monster for the character Shay Obsidian. The card was designed to support the Raidraptor archetype, which focuses on swarm-based tactics and rank-up mechanics. By allowing players to search their deck for additional monsters, Force Strix became a foundational utility piece for the deck's competitive consistency, reflecting the aggressive yet methodical nature of the Resistance faction depicted in the show.
The BLLR-EN072 printing appeared in the 2017 set Battles of Legend: Light's Revenge. This set was notable for bringing highly requested, previously imported cards to the Western market in a foil-heavy format. The design of Force Strix, characterized by its sleek, mechanical aesthetic and metallic blue-and-gold color palette, received positive attention from players for its utility in Xyz-centric strategies. Its inclusion in this set provided accessibility for competitive duelists looking to optimize their decks without needing to source original OCG imports.
