Raigeki Break

Raigeki Break was first released in the 2003 expansion Pharaonic Guardian, a set primarily focused on introducing cards associated with the Ancient Egyptian theme of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. As a trap card, it was designed to provide players with a versatile form of targeted removal, allowing them to destroy any card on the field at the cost of discarding one card from their hand.

The card’s design reflects the strategic shift during the early 2000s toward resource-management mechanics, where players had to balance the immediate advantage of destroying an opponent's threat against the disadvantage of losing card economy.
