Robbin' Goblin

Robbin' Goblin was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Pharaoh's Servant expansion in 2002. As a continuous trap card, its function was designed to punish opponents by forcing them to discard cards from their hand whenever the user's monsters inflicted battle damage. The card reflects the early mechanics of the game, which placed a heavy emphasis on hand control and resource depletion to stall or dismantle an opponent's strategy.

The card was later re-released in Dark Beginning 2, a compilation set designed to reprint high-demand cards from earlier expansions for a new generation of players. Featuring art consistent with the fantasy-horror aesthetic popular in the early 2000s, the design depicts a mischievous creature focused on theft, which serves as a thematic metaphor for the card's disruptive discard effect. While it was a common rarity, it remained a recognizable staple of casual and early competitive deck-building due to its straightforward disruption capabilities.
