Provenance

Where it came from

Secret Pass to the Treasures was released in 2003 as part of the Pharaonic Guardian booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was notable for introducing cards inspired by Ancient Egyptian themes and mechanics, expanding on the lore established in the original manga and animated series. The card was issued as a common rarity, intended to be a widely accessible utility card for players looking to manipulate the battle positions of their monsters.

The card's design features an illustration capturing the mystical, temple-inspired aesthetic characteristic of the early series' spell cards. Like many cards from the Pharaonic Guardian set, the artwork was developed by the Konami design team to emphasize the adventurous, tomb-raiding atmosphere of the Pharaoh-themed expansions. While not a cornerstone of competitive meta-play, it remains a recognized artifact of the game's formative years during the early 2000s.
