Where it came from
Sky Striker Maneuver - Scissors Cross was released in early 2020 as a promotional card for the Ignition Assault Sneak Peek events. These events were held at local hobby stores to provide players with an early look at the upcoming booster set. The card served as a thematic addition to the Sky Striker archetype, a popular strategy centered on a lone pilot named Raye who utilizes various support spells to gain card advantage and disrupt opponents.
The card features the signature mechanical aesthetic of the Sky Striker series, which draws heavily from the mecha anime genre. Designed as an Ultra Rare promotional variant, it highlights the technical and agile playstyle inherent to the Sky Striker deck. Upon its release, it was well-received by players of the competitive scene for its utility in recycling graveyard resources, effectively reinforcing the series' reputation for resource management and tactical versatility.
