Where it came from
Sky Striker Mecha - Eagle Booster was introduced in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set Dark Saviors, a specialized 'deck build pack' designed to provide players with a complete, functional archetype out of the box. The Sky Striker theme revolves around a high-speed combat pilot, Raye, and her modular mecha armor, drawing heavy inspiration from the aesthetic tropes of mecha anime and tokusatsu genres.
The card was illustrated to reflect the mechanical utility of the Sky Striker system, serving as a protective support piece within the deck’s control-oriented gameplay style. Upon its release, the Sky Striker archetype quickly became a staple in competitive play due to its resource efficiency and tactical flexibility, with the Eagle Booster specifically valued for its ability to protect key cards on the field.
